AhlulBayt News Agency - Hezbollah carried out a successful ambush on Sunday after they caught a large Jabhat Al-Nusra (Syrian Al-Qaeda group) convoy attempting to make their way from the Syrian village of Jaroud to the Lebanese border-crossing at Jaroud Jarajeer.
The Hezbollah ambush on the Lebanese-Syrian border resulted in the death of 10 enemy combatants from Jabhat Al-Nusra and the destruction of 2 armored vehicles that were mounted with anti-aircraft machine guns.
Hezbollah has recently increased their presence along the Lebanese-Syrian border after terrorist groups like Jabhat Al-Nusra and the so-called Islamic State (ISIS) carried out several attacks against the Lebanese Armed Forces in Jaroud ‘Arsal and Ras Ba’albak.
The Qalamoun Mountains are mostly under the control of the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) and Hezbollah; however, the northern hilltops at Jaroud Qarah continue to be a problem due to ISIS’ presence there.
